Hinged secondary glazing units – Types & Features

On small scale windows, single hinged units open on a restricting friction stay.

On larger scale windows, double hinged units see the friction stay replaced with a butt hinge. Butt hinges have been developed and rigorously tested to accommodate a variety of glass pane or ‘leaf’ weights.

Double hinged units have been specifically designed to fit in front of larger windows, including French doors.
