High performance glazing that can make all the difference

Click on the boxes above to find out about the benefits of our many glazing options for your new windows.

There’s more to glass than just the natural light and the views it shares with your home or business premises. High performance energy efficient glass retains more heat and will help cut back those fuel bills, whilst soundproofing glass can significantly reduce traffic noise from a busy nearby road. Decorative glass panels in side lights or opening lights in bay windows can be a beautifully stylish addition, pleasing to the eye from the inside – and giving your property a unique look from the outside too.

It goes without saying that you’ll want any glazed area in your home to be safe and secure, but we can advise you on how tough toughened glass really is and install laminated security glass where it really matters.

How do tilt-and-turn windows work?

Tilt and turn windows are ideal for space-poor rooms. With opening mechanisms which differ from traditional English hinged casement or sash windows, they are often referred to as ‘continental-style’ windows. The two operating options are selected by the position of the multifunctional handle.

In tilt-position, window angles permit the free-flow of fresh air whilst  allowing stale air to escape around the sides. In turn-position, thanks to a side-hinge, the window pane can open fully into the room’s interior like a door.

We will assess your new windows needs with security in mind installing child (restrictor/ safety) or fire escape window hinges where appropriate.

Window handles and sash hooks (handles) come with plenty of choice. We can advise on the practicalities of any options and you can choose your preferred colour or finish options.

Why is Secondary Glazing suited to heritage homes and period properties?

Secondary glazing is fitted to the inside of existing windows without impacting the look of the original windows themselves. If you have window frames which cannot be altered as they are integral to the character of the property, secondary glazing can be a good unobtrusive option for reducing heat loss, eliminating drafts and reducing both condensation and traffic noise.

Secondary glazing can also be cost-effective option if your windows are still in good condition, but their efficiency could do with a helping hand.
